CLAY PIGEONS and ZERO EFFECT
Now Streaming on Netflix
5/5 Stars
Dark comedy? Quirky drama? Bloody mystery? Today’s double-shot can be described in all these ways. Each film is a well-plotted, ever-deepening murder mystery with lethal danger around every corner. Each is populated with zany characters and snappy dialogue. Each subverts expectation with plot twists from out of nowhere. Each of these films is a unique script masterfully helmed by a first-time director. They take chances. They bend genre. They’re two great little movies that you may not even have heard of, and they’re streaming now.
